Law Firm AI FAQ

What attorneys and firm administrators ask us most before putting AI on their phones and intake forms.

These are the questions we hear most from managing partners, solo practitioners, and firm administrators considering AI for intake, follow-up, and marketing. The short version: the AI runs the front office, your attorneys practice law, and your firm stays in control of every word the system says.

Before you read the answers

Nothing here is legal or ethics advice. Your firm remains responsible for its own professional-conduct and advertising rules, and your state bar’s guidance on technology and generative AI should be the final word. What we can tell you is how the system is built and where the guardrails sit.

Questions and answers

Will the AI ever give legal advice?

No. It is configured to collect facts, schedule consultations, and route calls. It does not assess whether someone has a case, predict outcomes, or recommend a course of action. If a caller asks, it explains that only an attorney can answer and offers a consult.

Does talking to the AI create an attorney-client relationship?

The system is set up to tell callers that it is an automated assistant, that it cannot give legal advice, and that the call does not create an attorney-client relationship. Your firm writes or approves that disclosure.

How are conflict checks handled?

The AI captures the names of adverse parties and sends them to your intake staff with the call summary. Your team runs the conflict check in your own system before an attorney discusses the matter in depth.

What about confidentiality of what callers share?

Intake is kept to what your team needs to evaluate a matter, and scripts discourage callers from sharing more detail than necessary on a first call. Your firm should review how any AI or messaging tool handles data against its own confidentiality obligations before going live.

Can the AI handle urgent matters like an arrest?

Yes, based on rules you define. Urgent calls can trigger a live transfer to an on-call attorney or an immediate text alert, while routine inquiries are scheduled for business hours.

Who approves the scripts and messages?

Your firm does. Greetings, disclosures, intake questions, text templates, review requests, and review replies are all reviewed by the firm before they are used.

Will this work with our case management software?

ClientPro handles the front end of the relationship: calls, texts, chat, intake, scheduling, and follow-up. Your case management system remains the home for opened matters. We map a clean handoff between the two.

Can we ask clients for online reviews?

Rules on client reviews and endorsements vary by state, so check your bar’s position first. If it is permitted, the system can send an approved request after a matter closes and draft replies that never confirm a client relationship.

Is this only for South Carolina firms?

No. ClientPro.ai is based in Columbia, South Carolina, and works with firms nationwide. Scripts and disclosures are adjusted to each firm’s jurisdiction.

How much does it cost?

Plans start at $97/month, with a 14-day free trial. Setup and custom intake design are scoped to your practice areas and call volume.

How long does setup take?

It depends on how many practice areas, attorneys, and calendars are involved and how quickly your team reviews scripts. We walk through the plan and your review steps on the demo call.
